Adam’s Missionary Letters #2

Adam’s Letters August 20, 1999

Aug 20, 1999

I missed yesterday because Thursday morning at about 12:00 a.m. I woke up went to the bathroom and threw up, I don’t think it was the food. I really don’t have an idea what it was. The rest of the morning and afternoon I spent rushing too the bathroom to vomit until about 12:30 in the afternoon. I was in language training class and a teacher suggested Ii go see the clinic. I could not even hold down water, everything that went down came back out including medicine. I went to the clinic where they gave me a anti-nausea shot. They told me it would cure my nausea but knock me out. I went back to the apartment and slept from 1:30 pm to 6:00 am the next day.

I got ready said y prayers did companionship study and personal study and thought the day was going great. My companion Elder Rois informed me that he wanted to go home. I had him, pray about it and tried to talk to him but his mind was made up. He talked to the President and his parents and his Stake President. He said that he was pushed into going and that it was not his decision. He left to go home at 4:30 pm, but said he would be back in 6 months. He promised to write. How tough! This made me value my desire and will to serve more than ever.

The mission is not easy at all but even when I was sick with stomach flu and diarrhea I felt awful but more than anything I wanted to get better so Ii could get back to classes and partake of the spirit again. The temple trip is tomorrow, I’m paired up with another companionship now and I can’t wait to go back to the temple.
